This year on 4/20, we actually expected a relatively large crowd of people. All of us featured our sales plus specials all throughout the month of April. All of us had some of the best sales plus a fair amount of vendors were going to be present in the pot shop that morning. All of us had more than a dozen odd BOGO sales listed on the website. I arrived at the pot shop a good 45 minutes before we opened. There was a line of people out on the street, waiting to step into the building. The parking lot was completely filled with cars plus a couple of people were double-parked. I told the security officers that we were going to have an unquestionably long day ahead of us. The parking lot was filled with cars all weekend plus the street was totally busy. I heard honking horns like crazy throughout the day. Thankfully there were no accidents plus no instances of road rage either! Even though the store was quite a bit busier than usual, we honestly didn’t have any complications with keeping the crowd under control.

The assistant manager was getting ready to call me when I pulled into the parking lot.

My boss goes to the day labor place and he hires a couple of guys from the crew that are standing outside in the morning. He pays them a little bit more than the day labor place and then he doesn’t have to pay any of the fees that the daily replace charges. For instance, the day labor place charges my boss $60 an hour for the workers. The workers only get paid $25 an hour and the rest of the money goes to the day labor place. My boss pays one of the guys $30 an hour and she saves a ton of money. Today my boss didn’t do a very good job with hiring the guys. I got stuck with a guy named Jack. Every time we took a break, the guy wanted to go out to the car to smoke. At first I thought he was smoking cigarettes, but he came back at lunch time and smelled like marijuana. I didn’t say a whole lot to that guy, because I use recreational marijuana too. It wasn’t very safe that he was getting high on the job, but I wasn’t surprised. At the end of the day, my boss asked me if the guy worked out well. He was going to use the guy for the rest of the week. I immediately told my boss that the guy was smoking marijuana all day and I did not think he was a very good fit for the construction site.
