I’ve been dating this girl for the past 3 months and things have been going well.
I invited her to spend the weekend at my apartment after my roommate went home to see his parents.
My girlfriend came over on Friday night after her last class was over. We had some dinner outside on the patio. She grabbed her cigarettes and I grabbed a phone to smoke some marijuana. She looked horrified when I brought the bag of marijuana outside. I knew that the two of us discussed recreational marijuana in the past and I thought for sure that I told her that I was a recreational user. She looked extremely surprised. She asked me not to smoke in front of her. That’s when I realized that we never discussed my use of recreational marijuana. My girlfriend did not seem very happy and she made an excuse to leave my apartment on Saturday evening. She didn’t come back at all and I have not heard from her in a couple of days. I left a few messages on her phone, but now I am just trying to give her some space. If she doesn’t accept the fact that I like to use recreational marijuana, then I guess our relationship is going to be over. I’ve tried to change for a lot of people in the past and it has never worked out very well. It is honestly better for me to end the relationship now instead of continuing to fight or argue about medical and recreational marijuana. I’m 26 years old and I don’t live at home, so I don’t answer to anyone except myself.
