I just couldn’t wait any longer.

Marijuana had been legal for all those of age for over a year.

And there was even a local cannabis spot not far from our house. The curiosity about marijuana was just overwhelming. For some reason, I resisted going into the marijuana business. Well honestly, I think it was a holdover from way too much misinformation & different social morays that I was dealing with. I grew up in a venue & time where any sort of cannabis product was viewed as literal evil. Can you think that? A natural herb that God made was viewed as evil. That still sort of just blows our mind. But that’s the way it was & that sort of marijuana myth was pounded into our brain. So much so that as a grown adult, I was still easily upset about even going into a cannabis dispensary. Finally, our curiosity outweighed our hesitancy & I ventured into the local cannabis spot. What I found was not at all what I imagined. I figured there’d be a few jars of cannabis products overseen by a stoner staff. The reality of the cannabis dispensary was much, much different. The store was care about a high end food & wine shop however with every marijuana product imaginable. It was an incredible shopping experience with staff that was so helpful & expert in all the new cannabis strains. They set myself and others up with a pot brownie to start myself and others out. I followed their instruction & ended up having one of the easily best weekends of our entire life.

I’m moving on with life & I have MS.

This is just a statement that I repeat to myself numerous times a day.

I’ve been living with MS for just over 2 years now. And I’m finding that I have a really worthy tool in the fight to lead my life & that tool is medical cannabis. Medical marijuana is legal in this state & my nurse even mentioned cannabis products as part of treatment options. At the time, I was not actually hearing anyone because I was just trying come to terms with the fact that I had MS. So, I didn’t pursue how to get a medical marijuana card at that time. It was later that I was reintroduced to the method of treating with cannabis flower products. And it came from the MS support group I joined. One of the few men in the support group invited myself and others to the first in a series of cannabis dispensary events. Fortunately, I was in a space that I was ready to get a cannabis education because that’s exactly what I received. My neighbor Zack and I decided to go down South for Spring break.
