My aunt regularly seems like a grumpy outdated coot, but she is actually one person that I absolutely understand.

My aunt is easily one of my favorite people to spend time with. I have been spending a lot of time with my aunt due to the fact that she needs rides over town and cannot drive. The people I was with in addition to myself have never hesitated to help out when there is something that my aunt needs. Due to the covid restrictions and problems recently, many places have started a curbside pickup service. A couple of weeks ago, the people I was with in addition to myself we’re waiting outside of the cannabis dispensary waiting to purchase truly pressing amount of cannabis. The people I was with an addition to myself waited for the budtender to come out of the cannabis shop. The place was extremely busy. The people I was with in addition to myself saw the budtender come from the shop and he had a large package in his hands. The guy told us to open the trunk and he put the bag inside of the back seat of the car. The people I was with in addition to myself have spoken with our kids about marijuana. All of us want to make sure that our kids don’t have any questions about marijuana. It can be dangerous for some kids to use marijuana and I have heard that it could lead to a crime life filled with hard drug use. It sounded particularly interesting to smoke marijuana and the people I was with in addition to myself believe that it wasn’t really an immense deal. Marijuana seem to prefer the type of thing that was appealing to lots of people. The people I was with an addition to myself are regularly open with our teenagers about cannabis. We want them to understand that cannabis doesn’t have to be a destructive drug. It is more prefer coffee, beer, or fast food. It might not be great for all people, but used in moderation it can actually be a good thing. Quite honestly, the know-how that a boring outdated person smokes marijuana seems to make this a less appealing drug of choice to my children. One morning during a school session, one of my children was handed a joint and marijuana was the end of the conversation. If my children choose to use marijuana products, then I believe they will not be distraught to try other things. They were more dangerous drugs out there such as crack or heroin. Cannabis is really just a lot of good clean fun and a discussion about pot could save someone’s life later on during the future.

When I started smoking cannabis in high school, you either bought “mids” or “dro.” Mids were your average Mexican brick weed that were full of stems and seeds and were compacted before being shipped across country borders.

Dro was short for hydro, or hydroponically grown cannabis that was mostly cultivated indoors.

Usually dro was of sensimilla variety, or unpollinated females that didn’t produce seeds and were thus inherently more potent in THC content. Regardless, I didn’t know about specific strains of hydro-quality weed back then and it wasn’t until I got to college that I was able to try varieties like Sour Diesel and White Widow. I quickly learned that there is a huge world of different cannabis strains out there, many of which I didn’t even see in person until many many years later. Recently I got to try a strain that was named after Jimi Hendrix. The strain, Purple Haze, is a cross between two sativa strains—Purple Thai and Haze. It’s a rare strain that I’m happy to have had the chance to try just once, and now it seems like I might never see it again. The effects are surprisingly balanced for a sativa-leaning hybrid strain. I love landrace cannabis strains and hybrids that are derived from them. Dutch Hawaiian is a great sativa-leaning hybrid derived from Hawaiian landrace and Dutch Treat. Hopefully I’ll see a strain like Purple Haze again, but I’m thankful I had a chance to try it in the first place. There is a seemingly endless variety of cannabis strains out there, but sometimes I wish I could have consistency instead of constant variation.

I was reluctant to visit any events during the pandemic.

I lost a few close loved ones to the illness and wasn’t ready to gamble with my life by going into high-risk situations with lots of people and countless opportunities for exposure.

Although the pandemic is far from over, I’m slowly becoming more comfortable with outdoor events as long as I still wear a mask. I don’t think I’m at the point yet where I would risk being at a packed concert, but the local farmer’s market and art shows are a nice break from being cooped up in a house for two years now. Best of all, my city actually hosted a cannabis event that was an expo for all of the marijuana businesses in my state. The cannabis dispensaries all had booths at the cannabis event and most of them were giving out discount cards and coupons that could be redeemed inside their stores around the state. After getting so many unique discount cards and coupons from the cannabis dispensary booths, I’ll be paying discount rates on weed products for the next three months at least. It’s amazing when you get a discount card that saves you 25% on an entire order up to $200. There was a different cannabis dispensary handing out coupons for $50 off an order of $300 or more. If you’re one of those people that likes to buy a ton of cannabis flower products, edibles, or concentrates all at once for weeks or months at a time, these bulk discounts are a game changer. However, it’s a lot harder for someone like me to justify spending that much money on marijuana every single month.

As strange as this may seem, dabbing cannabis concentrates is even more complicated than smoking cannabis flower products.

It was pretty pathetic when I smoked weed out of a pipe for the first time. It was my third time trying the plant and the first two times I had taken a few hits off a joint a friend had rolled of mids-quality weed. When I was handed the pipe, I didn’t know about the carb-hole on the side that allows you to regulate the flow of air going into the pipe. I probably torched the whole bowl of weed on the first hit as well, as that’s another rookie mistake. However, with time I came to learn all of these finer points of stoner etiquette. A friend in college taught me how to “corner” a bowl of weed where you take your flame and lightly kiss the very edge of the bowl of weed so only a small slit ignites and combusts. It makes the bowl of weed last a lot longer, and it’s basic etiquette when you’re not smoking your own cannabis. As strange as this may seem, dabbing cannabis concentrates is even more complicated than smoking cannabis flower products. Even if you have an electronic nail vaporizer with digital temperature control, there’s an art to how heat is applied and how long you let the concentrate preheat before you start hitting the device with your carb cap. I use a digital battery pack for my mininail and it has algorithms that you can load into its memory on your computer. It learns how to go up to temperature, maintain that temperature steadily, and then taper off by the end until the atomizer cools. It’s amazing to see how far the art of dabbing cannabis concentrates has come as the technology improves.

You have to create a massive growing facility while maintaining store fronts from one county to the next. And if you’re smart, you’ll probably have some kind of cannabis delivery service as well. Even if you meet all of those minimum requirements for success, there are so many places where you can make serious mistakes and fall hopelessly behind. The flow of customers coming in and out of your stores needs to be efficient and limited to as few delays as possible. If you’ve got customers lined up for over an hour, they’re not going to enjoy giving you repeat business if your competitors treat them better. My favorite cannabis dispensary realized that their point of sale system was creating needless hiccups and delays with their daily flow of transactions. It was also creating issues for their cannabis delivery system, so they decided to make an overhaul to it all. Now it is easier than ever to shop at this particular cannabis dispensary. They have upgraded their point of sale system so that every customer has a unique login ID that tracks their medical marijuana physician recommendation, along with things like Veterans’ and SNAP discounts. If you decide to make an order through the cannabis delivery service, you will have a chance to input your address as well. This cannabis dispensary knew what they were doing when they opted to improve their ordering system, even if it’s just a small infrastructure improvement on their end. On top of it all, the computer system upgrade has made their lines move faster at the store as well.

The man who runs the place is not a great cook, who makes the best pizza dough I’ve ever had, but he is also a genius.

They say that the secret to success is “location, location, location!” This man made a very smart move and picked the most valuable location he could find – a place that was ground zero for every pothead within twenty miles. Few things go better with cannabis than pizza, so there is a built in market on hand. Here is the genius part – even if you weren’t craving pizza when you get to the cannabis dispensary, once you smell it in the air, you instantly get the munchies. The cannabis employees are given all the free pizza they want, because it makes the whole dispensary smell like delicious pizza! It almost seems predatory, because these people are taking advantage of us! Due to the consumption of massive amounts of cannabis and CBD we are helpless to resist the smell of the pizza. I have put on eight pounds in the last two months, thanks entirely to cannabis-fueled pizza binges. Part of me hopes that the pizza place goes out of business, just to spare my waistline, otherwise I will have to start frequenting another cannabis dispensary. Even when I feel that I am sick of pizza, once I get a head full of cannabis, my stomach starts rumbling for it.

Ten years ago the world was a very different place, at least in terms of smoking pot. As I write this, there are six different dispensaries within driving distance of my house. Ten years ago, there was not one in this part of the state, that’s how rare they were. Finding and buying pot used to be much more difficult, not to mention a lot more risky. These days most cops don’t seem to care, but back then the police were actively trying to apprehend people for possession of cannabis. That’s what happened to me, because a stupid friend of mine mailed me some cannabis, and I got busted for it. Jeff and I had been talking on the phone, and I was bemoaning my lack of marijuana after my dealer had been arrested. The crazy thing is he wasn’t arrested for cannabis, it was an unrelated charge about a car accident. Once I signed for the package, the cops arrested me for possession of marijuana – and I hadn’t even gotten to smoke any of it! Now I have a cannabis charge on my legal record. They have since made cannabis legal around here, so I wonder why they won’t remove that charge from my record? It sounds ridiculous to me that I am considered a convicted felon because of possessing cannabis, something that is currently legal to possess. It makes no sense at all, does it?

I love dogs and I love weed, but I don’t mix the two.

It is the sign of an immature mind to want to get an animal high.

It is also the sign of a cruel, possibly deranged mind, because animals need to be kept away from things like this. I choose to smoke weed as an intelligent adult, but that doesn’t mean I want people slipping me drugs when I don’t understand what is happening. I can’t say for sure what happens when you blow cannabis smoke in a dog’s snout, but it surely isn’t beneficial to the dog! I actually talked to a vet about it, who told me it was rather common, especially dogs getting into edibles. Cannabis is not a harmful plant, so its effects on animals are negligible. Does it get them high? He couldn’t say for sure, but he was sure that even if the cannabis itself wasn’t harmful, the smoke was. Smoke inhalation is damaging to lung tissue, so when adults choose to smoke cigarettes or cannabis, it is just self-harm. When you expose children or animals to secondhand cannabis smoke, it is harmful to their little lungs, which means you shouldn’t do it! I know that people don’t do this to be mean, it’s because they love cannabis and want to share it with their best friend. Anyways remember not to project your own human wants and needs onto an animal, who doesn’t have the capacity to appreciate the fine high of cannabis. Smoking marijuana is great, but don’t share it with our animal friends.

When they first opened the smokers lounge, it was a ghost town.

It was open five nights a week, but rarely had more than one or two people in it besides the employees.

Although it was a good idea in principle, there was nothing to do there. One of their employees had a brainstorm, and brought in his gaming system, and a projector to put the visuals up on the wall in an eight by eight foot square. That changed things, because now there was something fun to do with friends, and rivals, while you smoked cannabis or ate edibles. Betting is of course not permitted, but we still do it! It is friendly wagers, such as putting two grams of OG Kush on the line for a game of Mario Kart. Mario Party is another big hit, because up to eight people can play at once, and when everyone bets a little cannabis, or a few edibles, then there is a great prize for the winner! Not everyone can play video games at the same time, so the cannabis dispensary also has a wall rack filled with classic board games. Some people will even burn through a whole quarter ounce of chronic cannabis while playing a full game of Monopoly! I don’t have the patience for that long of a game, no matter how much cannabis I smoke. It is always a very low key vibe at the cannabis dispensary, but I have started going there at least twice a week, because now game night happens almost every night!
