On Christmas afternoon, my wife Gail and I decided to take our youngsters to a movie matinee. The youngsters were gleeful to see a sequel of 1 of the girls preferred cartoon movies. My wife Gail and I knew that the youngsters would be surprised to go to the movies on Christmas. We let the kiddos select any chips they wanted from the concession stand. My daughter got a big lemonade with some candy and chips. My son got more than 2 weird kinds of candy and a Slurpee. We found a seat way in the back of the theater. It wasn’t really full. There were a couple of people in the front and a couple of small families scattered around the auditorium. When the lights went dark and the preview started to roll, I odored marijuana in the theater. At first I thought I was going mad, but Gail grabbed my arm and complained about the odor of marijuana as well. I tried to suss out where the odor was coming from. I saw a purple light on the left side of the theater. Every time I saw the faint purple light, I odored marijuana. Someone in the theater was absolutely vaping. I rose from my seat and left the theater to find a manager. I told the manager that someone was smoking marijuana in that theater of the children’s movie. The manager agreed it was a problem and we went back to the theater. As soon as we entered the room, the manager saw the purple light and detected the marijuana smoke. The kid got kicked out of the theater and banned for more than five months.
