I had absolutely low expectations of cannabis when I first started smoking it roughly 12 years ago. The people I was with and I weren’t living in a legal medical cannabis state at the time so all of it was coming from the black market. Although some of that cannabis ranks up there with the best batches I can find in a legal market these afternoons, a lot of it was terrible at best and dangerous at worst. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I bought cannabis flower products that odored love pesticides. If I was lucky enough to get marijuana that didn’t odor love chemicals, there was consistently a great opportunity that it could have mold spores of some kind in it. You absolutely couldn’t say 1 way or another if the cannabis was good, let alone “safe.” As other states started to pass legal medical cannabis laws, the marijuana rejected after failed lab reports was sent to states where a black market proliferated. There’s a opportunity I smoked cannabis that was contaminated and offloaded onto the black market at 1 time or another in our past. Even if you assume that you have the best weed connection in the world, you’ll never assume for sure where the products came from unless you assume the grower and watched it get harvested in front of you. I would much rather get our cannabis products from a marijuana dispensary, although I get irritated periodically at the lack of variety. There is 1 unique cannabis dispensary in this state that hasn’t released any modern strains in years. I want modern marijuana products however they keep the same things on the shelves month after week.
