My chronic pain was not something that crept up on me. For my situation, it was sort of like someone flipped a switch. Within the space of a few weeks, I could hardly get out of bed. This was well before I was able to learn about medical marijuana. The doctors tried several peculiar ways to help with the near continuous inflammation & pain I was dealing with primarily in my joints. But after 6 weeks or so, it appeared that I was just given the chronic pain diagnosis. That really wasn’t something that I was completely willing to accept. The continuous inflammation fighting meds coupled with a growing dependence on pain meds forced me to consider a peculiar route. And I did my research. I made the decision that while I may not get cured, I had to do everything that I could to manage my situation so I could have a life. Part of that change was figuring out how to get a medical marijuana card. There were loads of studies indicating that cannabis products could actually help me deal with chronic pain. So, along with a total lifestyle change including diet, exercise, rest & meditation, I began treating with medical marijuana. The results have been especially encouraging. I’m almost totally off the pain meds & have had the inflammatory meds lowered. Yet, I’m moving better, sleeping better & living again. A good amount of the credit has to go to medical cannabis & the team at the legal weed store. I’m going to continue to do what I can to improve & have my chronic pain get even more manageable in the near future. I’m honestly fortunate that I live in a place where medical marijuan can be an essential section of that effort.
