When I decided to become an attorney, I knew that I wanted to study an area of the law that is very new.
I was extremely interested in cannabis laws and regulations.
During my first year of college, I spoke with a doctor and was prescribed medical marijuana. A lot of things in my life changed for the better and those changes were due to using medical marijuana. I was more sociable and far less anxious. My grades improved and so did my relationships with peers and adults. It was only medically legal at that time and a handful of states, but now there are at least a dozen states that recognize legal medical and recreational marijuana. I practice law in one of those states and I help local farmers apply for marijuana growing licenses. As a consultant for marijuana farmers, I keep up-to-date on the new laws and regulations that may affect the farming operations. Each year there are new laws, regulations, and zoning ordinances that are changed and the farmers need to be up to date on the changes. I handle all of the legal problems and paperwork that needs to be completed. I also consult on legal issues that might affect the farming and cultivation process. SInce the first year I was in college, I have known the magical and wonderful benefits of marijuana and I am proud to be part of the process. Each year another state votes to legalize marijuana for recreational and medical use and that puts us one step closer to legalization for everyone.
