In the old days my bestie Jen and I would take an overnight road trip just to get weed.
Our little town was so bone-dry that we had to go see her cousin in the city, which was a four hour drive one-way! Of course we could never tell our parents where we were going.
I would say I was having a sleepover with Jen, and she told her folks she was staying with me. We would drive to the big city, buy all the cannabis we could afford, and get back home before breakfast. Jen and I were reminiscing about that last weekend as we waited for our order from the cannabis dispensary to be delivered. We would drive 8 hours for cannabis, and now we don’t even have to drive eight minutes. That is the rich irony that made us giggle, because even though the cannabis dispensary is right down the road we won’t bother driving there we just have it delivered. Jen pointed out that we started taking cannabis for granted just as soon as it was legalized, and she’s not wrong. On the other hand, why shouldn’t I take cannabis for granted? It should have never been illegal in the first place, so if it is convenient to have delivered that is exactly what I will do. Jen asked me if cannabis was illegal again would we take another overnight road trip? I told her that I would do it again in a heartbeat, but hopefully it will never come to that, because I have gotten accustomed to home cannabis delivery.
