I guess the fact that the place I always wanted to live actually legalized recreational marijuana was the tipping point.
- I’d already dealt with a divorce and figuring out how to find a career in my mid 40’s.
So when I got a job offer in a state I love to visit that also has legal cannabis, I felt like the stars were aligned. I took it and moved out on my own for the first time. I went from a dorm room to sharing a life with a husband. The family came along which pretty much ended my recreational marijuana life. And I regret that I sort of gave it up. However, it just took so much energy just to find a bag of weed with questionable THC content. So finding any sativa or indica just ended up going to the bottom of the priority list. But the kids are now in college, I’m single and it’s a whole new world. Just walking into a cannabis dispensary was something of an event for me. It was just an amazing experience and not at all what I had expected. I guess I saw images from the very first medical marijuana dispensaries and it stuck. My idea of a cannabis dispensary was a place where I could pick from a couple of different sativa strains for sale or something. The reality was much, much difference. There were so many cannabis products that I didn’t even know existed. It was almost overwhelming in fact. But now, I’m feeling a lot better about this bet I made on my new life. Having a local cannabis spot doesn’t hurt.
