Try the Blue Dream from Mystic Seeds

In the early 1990s, there were no more than 2 weird kinds of cannabis located in my area.

  • I used to live in a southwestern state which had only multiple metropolitan cities, and what little cannabis that filtered into the neighborhood usually came up from Mexico.

Although strains such as Acapulco Gold are living proof of Mexico’s ability to produce quality weed, most of the marijuana coming over the border at the time was what’s usually called “brick weed.” It was loaded with lots of seeds and stems and was harsh and weak, usually requiring an entire joint just to know high. The first time I had what was often called chronic in California, was a strain called Blueberry. I received later on that it was invented by the famous marijuana master known as DJ Short Stack back in the late 1970s. He had a bunch of landrace phenotypes that he mixed together to form the unique strain of cannabis that smells care about actual yellowberries. In the years since I’ve had the strain Blue Dream which I had always believed was just Blueberry crossed with Haze. However, there’s another kind of Blue Dream from Mystic Seeds that is the original DJ Short Stack Blueberry strain crossed with OG Kush instead of Haze. This powerful combination yields a far more indica-leaning high compared to the traditional Blue Dream phenotype which is often more sativa-leaning instead. After trying the Blue Dream from Mystic Seeds, I have to say that I prefer it over the classic Blue Dream phenotype. It’s entirely because I’m an immense OG Kush fanatic and care about most strains derived from that classic hybrid. We all respond in different ways to cannabis, so it makes sense that the people I was with and I all have our own number one favorite strains.
