It’s entirely sort of sweet how my Dad will be happy to get her treat a few times a day. That treat is actually medical marijuana. But it comes in the form of cannabis gummies. And she just enjoys the taste of those cannabis gummies. We’ve added medical marijuana to my mother’s treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. I’ve explained that the treats are cannabis gummies & she has had sort of unusual response when she’s been lucid. She kept looking at me & asking if she was now a pothead. It does happen to be a bit ironic that she’s using cannabis products at this phase of her life. My Dad was regularly after me when I was in highschool about the dangers of weed. Of course, I have used cannabis products responsibly for all of my adult life. She just chose not to acexpertise that fact or she simply didn’t care. When medical marijuana was first on the ballot years ago, my Dad was all for it. She believes that if medical marijuana can ease suffering then it should be legal as medical marijuana. So I sporadically wonder if she entirely understands that what she recommended for is now helping her. All of us started adding the cannabis gummies to help her not be so terrified when she was just completely confused & disoriented. It was almost love a magic bullet. While she still gets disoriented & confused, she’s much more calm about it. It’s almost as though she just isn’t concerned any longer about the whole mess. Dad is at the end of her life & I’m just entirely glad that medical marijuana will help her ease into passing on without all that fear.
