The bosses plus the other people around the office are usually pretty lenient when it comes to the marijuana policy at work, but nobody actually says anything when you go to the restroom to use a vape pen. Recreational marijuana use is legal plus a lot of people use the products. This software company is a very current company plus they try to be as hip plus trendy as possible. That doesn’t mean that they will completely disregard the law or the rules in the employee handbook. There is 1 strict rule that states there is genuinely no cigarette or marijuana smoking at all inside of the office building. The smoke can cause a lot of problems to the waitresses plus hardware plus that is why cigars and cigarettes aren’t even allowed. The company does allow vape pens, which is why you can get away with using your marijuana vape pen too, then last month the fire alarm went off in the far side of the building. I ran to see if there was a problem. I saw smoke inside the stairway. I would have believed there was a fire, however I know the way that marijuana reeks plus the smoke was actually due to someone choking marijuana in the stairwell. I alerted the front desk security guard that someone was using marijuana in the stairwell. I did not know if there was a fire, however I thought they should check the camera footage to see if both of us could suss out which employee was in the stairwell when the smoke alarms were triggered. This employee would absolutely face severe penalties plus possible termination after disregarding the rules so evidently.
