The guy was thrilled when we won the case
It’s not very easy or simple to obtain a license to grow cannabis. The first part of the problem is finding a place that has already approved commercial cannabis growing. Some cities do not allow cannabis activity within the city limits, but the entire County will allow cannabis growing outside of the city. You can easily apply for a license once you find an area that allows cannabis distribution and growing. The city has to issue a permit first and then a permit needs to be issued from the state as well. I work for a company that helps customers apply for the right permits they need. The cannabis consulting company was formed to specifically help farmers with these problems. I was assigned a case last week. The guy wanted the right permits so he could start forming marijuana on his property. Since he was technically within city limits, it was a very difficult case to win. Half of the property was in city limits, but half of the property was considered past the county line. I had to fight in court for the permit, but the judge agreed that the farmer had standing to grow marijuana on the property. The guy was thrilled when we won the case. He presented me with a seedling for my home, but I told the guy that I don’t use recreational or medical marijuana. It was still a nice gesture after we won the case. I like helping people and it is one of the reasons that I love working with the law.
