I chose to hire a new driver to deliver orders for the cannabis dispensary! The driver had to pass a background check & a driver screening in order to acquire the job… Everything checked out perfectly & the guy had really excellent references from his last 2 jobs.
- I had no reason to think there would be a problem with the employee, however yesterday the driver disappeared with more than a few.
He was taking a good amount of cannabis deliveries up to the Hills. One of them had almost $500 worth of merchandise. The client expected the driver around 1:30 pm. At 2 pm, the shopper called the cannabis dispensary because the driver still had not arrived with the actual cannabis order. I called the driver’s iphone & it went to voice-mail right away. I called a little while later & I got the voice-mail once again. I wasn’t terribly upset, because service can be relatively choppy in most of our delivery zone! When the client reached out to me again at 3 p.m., I was actually beginning to worry a great deal. The driver was supposed to clock out at 4 p.m. & he never came back to the store. The driver was gone with quite a few orders that totaled more than $1,000. I’ve been unable to reach the guy at all & this day our boss said it was time to get a hold of the police. I have no idea what happened & I guess it’s possible the guy is lying in a hospital somewhere, however our boss is terribly irritated & she will have him arrested if she finds that he left with the cannabis supplies. That is grand theft in this section of the country.
