I made the decision to hire a new driver to take on orders for delivery at the cannabis dispensary.
The driver had to pass a background check & a driver screening in order to acquire the task.
Everything checked out just fine & the guy had particularly superb references from his last 2 places of employment. I genuinely had no reason to believe there would be a complication with the employee, however recently the driver disappeared with numerous orders. He was taking a bunch of cannabis deliveries up to the Hills. One of them had almost $450 worth of merchandise. The purchaser expected the driver at approximately 1:30 pm. At 2 pm, the driver called the cannabis dispensary because the driver still had not showed up with the purchase. I called the driver’s cell phone & it went to voicemail. I called a short while later & I got the exact same voicemail again. I wasn’t too nervous, because I realize that service can be choppy in most of our delivery regions. When the purchaser called me again at 3 p.m., I was actually beginning to worry. The driver was supposed to clock out at 4 p.m. & he never came back to the cannabis shop. The driver disappeared with numerous orders that totaled over $1,000. I’ve been unable to reach the guy at all & this afternoon our boss was saying that it was time to reach out to the police. I have no idea in the slightest what happened & possibly the guy is kneeling in a hospital in some unknown place, however our boss is extremely angry & she will have this man arrested if he left with the cannabis supplies. That is grand theft in this area of the country.
