The cannabis business consultant suggested relocating to a new facility

The business consultant felt that we would do more business on the east side of town, closer to the hospital and all of the doctors offices

My partner and I opened a medical marijuana facility last June. At the time, we decided to rent a building in a cheap neighborhood. We didn’t know if the business was going to do well or not and we couldn’t afford to spend $6,000 a month on a rental. Luckily, the medical marijuana facility did very well, especially in the beginning. During the first six months that we were open for business, the dispensary was filled with patience. We hired a doctor to consult on medical cases and approve medical marijuana cards in the building. The doctor was busy everyday and he eventually demanded more money for the same job. When we couldn’t pay the fees, we had to stop offering the service. That’s when our sales started to decrease. After another three months, my partner and I were losing money writing that. We hired a cannabis business consultant to look at the business and tell us what we were doing wrong. The cannabis business consultant suggested relocating to a new facility in a higher traffic area. We were spending a fortune on advertising and the numbers didn’t make sense. The business consultant felt that we would do more business on the east side of town, closer to the hospital and all of the doctors offices. The advice was certainly helpful, but that was something we didn’t anticipate hearing. Now we have a lot of things to consider before we move to the next step. We have a lot of clients in this area, and I’m not sure picking up and moving is the best answer.
