Florida-based specialty coffee chain Buddy Brew Coffee will soon be more than doubling its retail footprint with 10 new branded cafes in Sprouts grocery stores across Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida.

The cafes are planned across Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Sarasota counties, giving Buddy Brew its first in-store cafe presence in Pinellas and Pasco, according to a company announcement shared with DCN.

Specific store locations and opening dates were not immediately disclosed. Buddy Brew said additional details will be announced soon.

“We respect the culture Sprouts has built and the way their teams connect with the people they serve,” Buddy Brew CEO and co-founder Dave Ward said. “Working with Sprouts allows us to thoughtfully expand our footprint, reach new communities and grow alongside a retailer that shares our commitment to quality and care.”

Buddy Brew said each in-store cafe will feature its menu of espresso drinks, cold brew, specialty beverages and food offerings, aiming to give Sprouts shoppers an “elevated cafe experience” while they shop.

One of the earliest players in specialty coffee in the Tampa area, Buddy Brew began roasting in 2007 before opening its flagship cafe and roastery on West Kennedy Boulevard in 2010. Buddy Brew’s website currently lists eight cafe locations across the Tampa Bay area and Sarasota.

The financial terms of the Sprouts deal were not disclosed.

For Sprouts, which has more than 460 stores in 24 states, the deal follows an established playbook for branded, in-store coffee bars run by popular regional roasting companies.

In Arizona, Sprouts launched a pilot with Phoenix-based Press Coffee in 2022, then announced four Press-branded coffee bars inside Sprouts stores. In Southern California, Sprouts partnered with Klatch Coffee beginning in 2024 for five in-store cafes, then in 2025 announced plans for 20 more cafes.
