Sprouts Farmers Market Expands Partnership with Klatch Coffee for 20 New Cafes
California-based Klatch Coffee and Sprouts Farmers Market recently announced an expanded partnership that will bring 20 Klatch cafes to Sprouts stores across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego counties. The move comes a year after Klatch opened its first cafe in a Sprouts store in Fontana. “Our partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market is a source of immense pride,” said Heather Perry, CEO of Klatch Coffee. “Customers tell us they love the convenience of enjoying Klatch and Sprouts in one trip.”

A feature story in Fair Observer suggests Ethiopia’s coffee sector faces a crucial moment as climate change and lack of institutional funding threaten the country’s coffee genetic resources. “With a production forecast expected to top 288.2 billion Birr… Ethiopia faces a decisive choice: steward the world’s irreplaceable Arabica gene pool into a high-value national industry or remain a low-margin raw-bean supplier,” the authors wrote.
Illycaffe Launching Experimental Pop-up in NYC
In celebration of International Coffee Day, Italian coffee company Illycaffe is launching an experimental Illy Cube-themed pop-up in Hudson Yards from Sept. 29-Oct. 5. Customers can explore the company’s coffee through sensory experiences as part of its global “Why We Make It” campaign.
Lavazza Releases Flavia Aroma Brewer
Italian coffee giant Lavazza announced its newest brewer under the Flavia equipment brand, called the Aroma. The machine features a compact design and is compatible with the company’s Momento range of Freshpack technology.
AeroPress Launches Premium Black and White Models
California-based AeroPress celebrated its 20th anniversary by unveiling double-wall glass and metal AeroPress brewers in black and white under the brand’s Premium line. The new models add to the existing Premium model, in silver.
Ciarra Introduces Portable Espresso Machine BloomBox
Hamburg, Germany-based kitchen appliances brand Ciarra launched its portable 15-bar pressure espresso machine called BloomBox, designed for making coffee anywhere.
Death Wish Rolls Out Multiserve Cold Brew
New York-based Death Wish Coffee expanded its ready-to-drink portfolio with the introduction of a multiserve cold brew. The product — an unsweetened dark roast cold brew — comes in 48-ounce plastic containers.
7 Brew Signs Marketing Deal with Dude Perfect
Fast-growing U.S. coffee chain 7 Brew has signed a deal with Dude Perfect, a creator-led entertainment group that features things like grown men doing trick shots. The collaboration kicks off this fall with a 7 Brew appearance in Dude Perfect’s “Squad Games” competition series.
Blue Bottle Launches Free ‘Membership’ Program
Blue Bottle Coffee, a Nestlé company, launched the Blue Bottle Coffee Membership, a free program that earns members points for purchases, with rewards such as free drinks. The program is available through the redesigned Blue Bottle app.
SCA’s CVA Course Coming to NYC’s Bean & Bean in October
New York City-based Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters is offering a two-day Introduction to the Specialty Coffee Association’s Coffee Value Assessment (CVA) course from Oct. 3-4, featuring Cup of Excellence Head Judge Alex Pond.
