The sunshine felt welcome and comforting on my face
It’s been sort of a slog for me lately. When I say lately, I mean the last couple of years. Not only have I had to deal with the pandemic and all the turmoil that created, I’ve lost my dad as well. It’s been as tough an emotional experience these last few years as I can remember. So, I really count my blessings when good things happen. And I count myself so lucky to be able to enjoy the cannabis cafe just around the corner. This was something new that the local cannabis spot opened during the pandemic. I was so deep into just grinding through life that I really didn’t even pay much attention to it. That all changed when a friend of mine simply insisted that I join her at the cannabis cafe. I’ve used a bit of recreational marijuana here and there over the years. But mainly, that activity has been limited since it’s been illegal for all of my adult life until 3 or 4 years ago. Even when recreational marijuana was legalized, I just wasn’t that motivated as I was just overwhelmed with life. But that all changed on a beautiful, clear and sunny morning not too long ago. Like I said, my friend was simply insistent that I go with her to try out the cannabis cafe. And she wanted a morning to late afternoon commitment as well. We met up there and ordered some amazing coffee along with a lovely cannabis edible we would share. It was like the world opened up to me again. I could see the trees and the birds. The sunshine felt welcome and comforting on my face. And the friendship and love I got to share was just so wonderfully warm, fun and soul enriching.
