My chronic pain was not something that slowly came upon me.
For my situation, it was pretty much like someone flipped a switch. Within the space of a few weeks, I could hardly get out of bed. This was well before I was able to learn about medical marijuana products. The doctors tried various ways to help with the near continuous inflammation plus pain I was experiencing mainly in my joints. But after several months or so, it appeared that I was just given the chronic pain diagnosis. That absolutely wasn’t something that I was fully willing to accept. The regular inflammation fighting meds coupled with a growing dependence on pain meds forced me to think about a strange route. And I did my research. I made the choice that while I may not get cured, I had to do everything that I could to manage my situation so I could actually have a life. Part of that change was figuring out how to get a medical marijuana card. There was a huge amount of studies indicating that cannabis products could absolutely help me face chronic pain. So, along with a full on lifestyle change including diet, exercise, rest plus meditation, I began treating with medical marijuana. The results have been especially encouraging. I’m practically completely off the pain meds plus have had the inflammatory meds reduced. Yet, I’m moving better, sleeping better plus residing again. A fair amount of the credit has to go to medical cannabis plus the team at the legal weed shop. I’m going to continue to do what I can to improve plus have my chronic pain get even more manageable in the future. I’m truly lucky that I live in a certain place where medical marijuana can be a necessary part of that effort.
