Before joining MZB-USA, Smith spent more than a decade at Voss Water and previously held leadership and commercial roles at RNDC, Frito-Lay and Nestl\u00e9 Waters, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/2026\/03\/12\/massimo-zanetti-beverage-usa-names-matthew-smith-president\/news-to-share-let-us-know-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-195164\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-195164\" src=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/News-to-Share-Let-Us-Know-1.png\" alt=\"News to Share Let Us Know\" width=\"1240\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/News-to-Share-Let-Us-Know-1.png 1240w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/News-to-Share-Let-Us-Know-1-300x194.png 300w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/News-to-Share-Let-Us-Know-1-620x400.png 620w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/News-to-Share-Let-Us-Know-1-150x97.png 150w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/News-to-Share-Let-Us-Know-1-768x495.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1240px) 100vw, 1240px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>MZB-USA, the North American operating unit of Italy-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mzb-group.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group<\/a>, maintains a large private-label roasting business while also operating U.S. consumer brands including Chock full o\u2019Nuts, Hills Bros., MJB, Chase &amp; Sanborn, Segafredo Zanetti and Kauai Coffee.<\/p>\n<p>The company says its U.S. footprint includes roasting facilities in Suffolk and Moonachie, New Jersey, plus four distribution hubs.<\/p>\n<p>Smith&#8217;s appointment comes at a high-pressure moment for <a href=\"https:\/\/kauaicoffee.com\/\">Kauai Coffee<\/a>, the largest coffee plantation in the U.S. that also operates a roastery and visitor center on the island.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kauai Coffee issued WARN notices <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/2026\/01\/14\/kauai-coffee-warns-141-workers-of-potential-layoffs-as-land-lease-nears-end\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">affecting 141 workers in January<\/a>, with potential layoffs starting March 14. Those layoffs are now <a href=\"https:\/\/labor.hawaii.gov\/wdd\/files\/2026\/03\/March-6-2026-Kauai-Coffee-Company-Additional-Notice_WARN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scheduled to begin April 18<\/a>, as MZB-USA and the landowner, a firm called Brue Baukol Capital Partners, extended negotiations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3912\" data-end=\"4095\">According to MZB-USA, Smith is being tasked with strengthening the company&#8217;s core brands while &#8220;scaling new platforms and driving deeper customer and consumer engagement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored to step into the role of president at such an exciting time for Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA,\u201d Smith said. \u201cWe have a strong foundation, iconic brands and tremendous opportunities ahead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><i>Comments?
