Meanwhile, the median price of a cold brew coffee was $5.58, up 4.1% from February 2025.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"2184\">As for sales, the biggest declines through 2025 were found in green tea (-4.9%), black tea (-3.4%), hot drip coffee (-3.3%) and regular soda (-2.3%). Here are some other categories that stood out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-section-id=\"1taykh9\" data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"940\">\n<p data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"940\"><strong data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"934\">Lattes:<\/strong> +4.0%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"gsh7nj\" data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"968\">\n<p data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"968\"><strong data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"962\">Espresso shots:<\/strong> +3.3%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19pdbp1\" data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"992\">\n<p data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"992\"><strong data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"986\">Americanos:<\/strong> +1.4%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"lc7igg\" data-start=\"993\" data-end=\"1016\">\n<p data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1016\"><strong data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1010\">Macchiatos:<\/strong> +0.6%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ru0fry\" data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1053\"><strong data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1070\">Cold brew:<\/strong> -2.2%<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1pmopr1\" data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1097\">\n<p data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1097\"><strong data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1091\">Frapp\u00e9s:<\/strong> -0.6%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1s29mht\" data-start=\"1098\" data-end=\"1160\">\n<p data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1160\"><strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1116\">Cappuccinos:<\/strong> -0.4%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Toast framed the shift as a move toward drinks that feel more premium, more specialized and less easily made at home for cafes and restaurants. Yet the report also showed strong growth for non-coffee caffeinated options geared toward canned or bottled convenience, including energy drinks (+8.7%) and diet sodas (+7.4%).<\/p>\n<p>The Toast findings broadly align with recent National Coffee Association market research showing modest continued momentum for specialty coffee. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/2025\/04\/17\/nca-report-coffee-beats-bottled-water-as-top-purchased-beverage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spring 2025 National Coffee Data Trends report<\/a>, the NCA said 66% of U.S. adults drank coffee in the past day, while specialty coffee reached 46% of adults, up from 39% in 2020. Traditional coffee held relatively flat at 42%, versus 43% in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The same NCA release said past-day consumption of espresso-based beverages rose to 28% of adults in 2025 from 24% in 2020, while non-espresso specialty beverages \u2014 including frozen blended coffee, cold brew and nitro \u2014 rose to 17% from 12%.<\/p>\n<p>Toast\u2019s same-store restaurant data showed cold brew sales slipping 2.2% in 2025, even as other recent consumer research and Toast\u2019s own seasonal data suggest cold coffee remains popular and highly weather-dependent.<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/2025\/09\/09\/cold-coffee-ruled-this-summer-new-nca-market-report-finds\/\">NCA report released in September 2025<\/a>, cold coffee drinks surged during the summer, with 32% of Americans saying they had cold brew, frozen\/blended coffee or nitro within the past week. Within that group, 21% said they had cold brew. In a separate <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/2025\/09\/29\/report-u-s-coffee-shop-coffee-prices-are-rising\/\">September 2025 report from Toast<\/a>, the company said cold brew demand more than doubled from winter to summer.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><i>Comments?
