Hoos said the goal is for the tool to stay roasting-specific and grounded in real-world practice rather than pulling in random internet noise.<\/p>\n<p>An offshoot of <a href=\"https:\/\/hoos.coffee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hoos&#8217; consulting business<\/a>, Roasting Lab is built to connect roasters who want to share knowledge, troubleshoot problems and swap ideas. Topics range from diagnosing roast defects and dialing in flavor targets to translating profiles between machines and other day-to-day production challenges.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/2026\/02\/26\/rob-hoos-led-roasting-lab-expands-with-apps-and-ai\/roasting-lab-screen-shot\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-194772\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-194772\" src=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/roasting-lab-screen-shot.png\" alt=\"roasting lab screen shot\" width=\"1240\" height=\"861\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/roasting-lab-screen-shot.png 1240w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/roasting-lab-screen-shot-300x208.png 300w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/roasting-lab-screen-shot-620x431.png 620w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/roasting-lab-screen-shot-150x104.png 150w, https:\/\/dailycoffeenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/roasting-lab-screen-shot-768x533.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1240px) 100vw, 1240px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hoos described the platform as designed for &#8220;anyone who is serious about their coffee roasting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I love this platform for anyone who is serious about their coffee roasting,&#8221; said Hoos. &#8220;We have home roasters who are just starting up with 50-gram batches to people running 5-bag coffee roasting machines \u2014 300 kilograms per batch \u2014 and everyone realizes there is something to learn from each person&#8217;s perspective,&#8221; Hoos said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Roasting Lab also offers some direct access to Hoos. Since 2023, Hoos said he has monitored the forums closely, frequently jumping into discussions while relying on a third-party provider for app management, platform maintenance and feature integrations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The team is just me. I personally look over almost every post and use integrated word monitoring and AI to handle flagging posts,&#8221; Hoos said. &#8220;So far, I think I have personally responded to almost every post on the platform.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2428\" data-end=\"2643\">Membership runs from $10-$60 per month or $100-$600 per year. The entry-level Community tier includes a general forum plus a book club, job board and a marketplace for equipment sales and group buys of green coffee.
