Swiss grinder manufacturer Bentwood<\/a> is rolling out the H75 grind-by-weight grinder, which represents the second major model from the eight-year-old company, following the Vertical 63 machine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Departing from the perpendicular barrel format and analog interface of the Vertical 63, the techier and more fully rectangular H75 greets users with a 2.4-inch sapphire glass screen that offers digital control over the grind setting.<\/p>\n

Changes to the grind are executed with mechanical precision by a built-in servomotor. An adjustable portafilter holder, which was optional on the 63, comes standard on the H75 and connects to a built-in scale for programmable dosing accuracy, down to 0.1-gram resolution.<\/p>\n

Within its deceptively right-angled case is an entirely slanted grind chamber, as referenced by the slashed “H” of the new machine’s logo. At its core is a set of proprietary flat 75-millimeter burrs that are angled for low retention and spun at a consistent 1,350 RPM by a 660-watt motor. The resulting output averages seven grams per second in the espresso range of fineness.<\/p>\n

“Its speed and ease of use make it a perfect grinder for any commercial setting,” Bentwood Founder and Managing Director Manuel Maimann-Stern told Daily Coffee News. “That said, the small footprint and unique taste experience have already established the H75 as a favorite amongst home users looking for the ultimate grinder.”<\/p>\n

A relatively heavy grinding chamber made of food-grade aluminum is designed to maintain low operating temperatures. Onboard fans also keep mechanisms cool on the inside of the box-shaped case. The exterior of the case is available in a variety of wood and metal finishes.<\/p>\n

Built-in wifi capabilities allow technicians to collect usage and maintenance info. In the future, Maimann-Stern said this feature will also be used for communicating directly with espresso machines, a feature type previously introduced<\/a> by manufacturers such as Mahlk\u00f6nig.<\/p>\n

The H75 launched in October 2024 in Europe for \u20ac2,640 ($2,746 USD, as of this writing).<\/p>\n

As Bentwood seeks to broaden its distribution into new markets around the globe, particularly in Latin America in 2025, GH Grinding and Brewing Solutions<\/a> will continue to serve as its primary importer in the United States. GHGBS plans to formally launch the H75 at the SCA Expo in Houston<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n
