World of Coffee San Diego 2026 Opens Registration
Visitor registration is now open for World of Coffee San Diego — the Specialty Coffee Association’s North American flagship trade show formerly known as Specialty Coffee Expo — scheduled for April 10-12, 2026. Colombia is the 2026 Portrait Country.
La Colombe Factory Expansion Approved in Michigan
La Colombe Coffee Roasters won site plan approval from a local planning commission for a building addition at its Norton Shores, Michigan, factory complex. The company has said the broader expansion plan would add about 100 jobs. MLive reported that the expansion represents a $479 million investment.
New 2026 Cezve/Ibrik Champion
Jane Espante of the United Arab Emirates won the 2026 World Cezve/Ibrik Championship, with Angel Kotsifakis of Greece in second and Wael Hachem of France in third, according to World Coffee Championships results posted in Dubai.
Grounds for Health Week 2026 Registration Opens
Vermont-based nonprofit Grounds for Health has opened registration for its annual Grounds for Health Week campaign, which begins March 8, aligning with International Women’s Day. In an announcement shared with DCN, GFH board member and champion barista Lem Butler said the effort “reinforces how collective action within our industry can drive positive change and support the well-being of the coffee communities that sustain us.”
Ralph’s Coffee Opens First California Location in Newport Beach
Ralph Lauren’s Ralph’s Coffee has opened at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, marking the brand’s first Ralph’s Coffee location in California, according to a Fashion Network report.
DMCC’s 2nd Dubai Coffee Auction Wraps With Sales Topping $70,000
DMCC said the second Dubai Coffee Auction — held in conjunction with World of Coffee Dubai 2026 — generated more than $70,000 in total sales and featured coffees from 13 origins, the widest origin mix yet for the event.
Royal Aloha Coffee Company Names Tom Wylie COO
Royal Aloha Coffee Company, parent of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, appointed franchise operator Tom Wylie as chief operating officer as it continues to grow its system. Bad Ass Coffee currently has 45 franchise coffee shops in the U.S. with more than 100 in development, according to the company.

Faema, the Italian espresso-machine brand within the Cimbali Group, named 2025 World Barista Champion Jack Simpson its global brand ambassador as part of its “I’m a Barista” campaign.

Minor Figures Launches RTD Multi-Serve Oat Lattes
Minor Figures launched ready-to-drink, multi-serve Oat Lattes in four flavors — Classic, Vanilla, Cinnamon and Mocha — and said the line is shelf-stable and made with its Barista Oat blend and coffee.
