Communication is key. In commercial cafe equipment, that axiom applies now more than ever as espresso machines and coffee grinders grow increasingly intertwined.
This year, multiple major manufacturers unveiled new and expanded product lines with connectivity features that not only share data and provide remote access to settings and functions, but also enable automated grind adjustments as results drift.
Meanwhile, tariffs imposed by the Trump administration have disrupted the traditional flow of manufactured goods — such as espresso machines — with many oversees manufacturers telling DCN they are approaching U.S. distribution and sales of new machines more cautiously.
Yet despite these obstacles, the forward march of technology continued unabated. Here we take stock at some of the newest brewing and espresso equipment revealed and launched in 2025.
